Salary: £24273 to £26523 per annum, depending on skills and experience (salary can progress to £29,853 per annum, subject to performance)
Translational Hearing Research
The National Biomedical Research Unit in Hearing (NBRUH) is a partnership between Nottingham University Hospitals Trust, the University of Nottingham and the Medical Research Council Institute of Hearing Research. It employs approximately 25 academic, technical and administrative staff, all based in newly refurbished Trust premises in the centre of Nottingham. The successful candidate will provide general support to a research programme or programmes within the National Biomedical Research Unit in Hearing, including assisting in the preparation of Ethics and R&D applications required for new research projects, assisting with external grant applications, literature searching, recruiting participants to research experiments and conducting basic tests, and inputting and transcribing data. They will work with NBRUH scientists running experiments on hearing involving both patients and members of the public.
Candidates should have a first degree (or equivalent) in psychology or a science related subject. Excellent IT skills to use databases, the internet, spreadsheets, word processing, and Email are essential as is the ability to provide and receive complex research information. Data collection and manipulation experience is required along with experience of supporting complex projects and in preparing reports. Experience of preparing manuscripts for publication and slides and posters for presentation is also essential as is evidence of effective relationship building across organisations, disciplines and professions.
This post will be offered on a fixed-term contract until 31 March 2012.
